Seven Blades of Grass is a ground-breaking animation film that tells the true story of one of the most extraordinary events in history; the uprising at the Treblinka extermination camp during WWII.
From the more than one million people who were sent to Treblinka to die, a little over sixty survived to tell the world what had happened there.
Of these, the great majority were participants in the armed uprising and mass escape that took place there on August 2, 1943.
They included twenty-year old SAMUEL WILLENBERG, the last surviving witness of the uprising when he passed away in 2016, on whose memoir and testimony our film is based.
Set in the unfathomable horror of war and genocide, Seven Blades of Grass is a
story of courage, resistance, endurance, friendship and, ultimately, of hope and
triumph against impossible odds. It follows the conception, planning, frustration and eventual accomplishment of the mass revolt in Treblinka as experienced by Samuel and ALFRED BOEHM, the boyhood friend who rescued him from the gas chambers.
